Group in Tableau

In tableau the groups are mainly used for the effective created new field representation of the data .in  tableau if you created any group tableau will automatically created new field .under the dimensions of the data window.in tableau the group can be created at the header level, at the data view level , at the data field level also.If you created any group tableau will create a separate data field under the dimension.

                           In tableau with the help of the groups we can able to encode  the data view differently for each and every group.While working with dates and if u want to create the groups in the dates we needs to take the exact dates .on the data parts if it is not possible to create a group.
At the data field level it is not possible to  performs. the grouping on the multiple fields.only at the data view level we can able to perform the groping on the multiple fields.

                     If u create any group on measures tableau will creates a new data field under the dimension. in tableau on single data  field we can create multiple groups.I f you want remove the measures from the group in the data view select the required members and select UN group in the tool tip.TO un group the members from the data fields select the group from the dimensions and select edit group in the edit group window select the existing groups and select UN groups.
